Reopening

Phase Two Reopening began on June 17th! Click on a facility below to see important reopening plans. While you were away, we have been sanitizing and making modifications for you! Thank you for your patience as plans may continue to morph as we all adjust to the changes. Thank you for your support- we are excited to see you again!

Please read the PHASE ONE AND TWO CHANGES tab first and then the program-specific changes, as some will be different than others.  Please scroll a little further for Court House and Athletic Edge.

Based on the State of Oregon requirements, masks/face coverings will be required in all Oregon businesses and indoor spaces that are open to the public, as of July 1st.

Specific Guidelines for America’s Best Kids:

  • Students will NOT be required to wear masks while participating in the water in a swimming class.

  • Students 5 YEARS & OLDER must wear masks/ face coverings upon entering and exiting the building, and when in class and in the building.

  • Parents/Guardians must wear masks/face coverings while inside the facility.

If you have not already, please also read the PHASE ONE AND TWO CHANGES tab as there is additional important information there!

Hello, we are very excited to be able to welcome our families back to ABK! Each department has a few policies that we have put in place to keep social distancing and ensure safety for us all.

We have utilized our time during the Covid closure to make improvements, beautifications, and have modified some of the spaces to create walkways and to streamline our organizational flow.

We have missed our students so much and we are very excited to see them and get back to teaching! We also realize that some families may be reluctant to return to a popular destination such as ABK. In an effort to reduce the amount of traffic in and out we have:

  • Created drop-off and pick-up zones
  • Spectators are limited
  • Classes are capped to a smaller student/teacher ratio
  • Some events are cancelled for the time being. This is an important measure to ensure that your child is with the same small group of children each week.

If you have not already, please also read the PHASE ONE AND TWO CHANGES tab as there is additional important information there!

Hello, we are very excited to be able to welcome our families back to gymnastics! Each department inside of ABK has a few policies that we have put in place to keep social distancing and ensure safety for us all.

  • Open gyms and make-up classes are cancelled for the time being. This is an important measure to ensure that your child is with the same small group of children each week.

In order to allow more distance, avoid crowds, and ensure increased time for sanitization between classes the gymnastics department will be adding some morning classes for our school-age students on Wednesdays and Fridays. Now that everyone has become accustomed to distance learning, we wanted to provide families the flexibility to do their sport early in the day when ABK is typically very “quiet”. If these morning hours are popular we will continue these through the summer months and possibly into fall depending on demand. New classes are listed below and are active on our website. If you would like to transfer to these or any other times please log on to your parent portal or click on the website link here: Customer Login. Some of our existing recreational class times had to be adjusted slightly too. Log in using the above link to check the time for your child’s class and/or click Recreational Gymnastics Schedule  to see the overview of the time adjustments.

NEW SCHOOL-AGE CLASSES:

Wednesday 10:00 am Girls Gym Beginner 1 & 2

Wednesday 11:00 am Girls Gym Intermediate 3 & 4

  • dropped off at the front gate on Sky Park Drive, directly in front of the ABK front door. For the safety of your children please drop off on the ABK side of the street (children should not have to cross the street).
  • picked up by ‘drive-thru’ on American Way at the big roll up door (gym floor-adjacent)
  • in inclement weather pickup will be at the front ABK gate

TEAM GYMNASTS:

  • Please use the enrichment side door independently (south side)

GYMNASTICS-SPECIFIC PROTOCOL:

  • Hand sanitizer will be distributed at the gym floor entrance by the ½ wall upon check -in/arrival. Bleachers have been marked with physical distancing markers as “waiting zones.”
  • Bring your own water bottle. The water fountain will be out of order, but the bottle filling station will still be available.

CLASS TIMES:

Gymnastics class times have been adjusted to accommodate the necessary changes. Your child’s one hour class will be adjusted to 50 minutes, to help us account for the time for pick up and drop off, as well as cleaning between classes/controlled groups. We are very strongly encouraging parents to drop off as well as pick up in order to help us maintain social distancing requirements. Thank you in advance for your help!

Swim is open! Each department inside of ABK has a few policies that we have put in place to keep physical distancing and ensure safety for us all.  We have utilized our time during the Covid closure to make improvements, beautifications, and have modified some of the spaces to create walkways and to streamline our organizational flow.

Students will need you to review the schedule. Click here to log in to the parent portal.  We have done our very best to keep your class times on the same day of the week, but many of the start times have changed due to the addition of 10 min gaps between classes. We have also added a few Shark 1,2, & 3 level classes during the morning hours as additional options during these summer months. Due to a significant reduction in staff size, and as we spread out our students to accommodate less students in the facility per hour, we have decided to temporarily close the entire facility on Saturdays. This also gives our hard working coaches a full weekend to recharge! Saturday classes, open swims, and parties will likely resume again as Jackson County moves into later phases and as we see a demand for more class offerings.

ABK swim classes already have a small student teacher ratio, so mainly we will be asking for parents to help with entering, on deck, and exiting the building. With your assistance we can keep physical distance and the teachers can provide a fun and educational learning environment. Since class sizes are limited, we are able to achieve a small controlled group of kids and any equipment or props that we use during class will be sanitized between each class.

SWIM CLASS-SPECIFIC PROTOCOL:

  • A max of 1 adult per child should accompany a preschool swim student.
  • Parent assistance on deck will be required for Dolphin 1 in order to keep physical distancing with non-swimmers.
  • Separate entrance and exit points specific to swim will be clearly marked. Swim families should park in the rear “sport court” parking lot and enter and exit through doors going directly to the pool.
  • Please have children arrive “Swim Ready” in suits so that changing is only necessary after their swim lesson.

Please take a look at the schedule through your parent portal to double check for adjustments and what you are currently registered for. In the event that your child’s class is on a Saturday or Monday morning, we will contact you directly to find a new time. In the meantime, please check the revised schedule here!

CLASS TIMES:

Dance class times have been rearranged to accommodate the necessary changes. Coach Erica has reached out to all dance families- if you have not already, please respond asap.

LIVE-STREAMING CLASSES:

Dance classes are also live-streamed, to accommodate anyone unable to make it to class physically.  Access will be provided in your parent portal, for the class in which your child is enrolled. This will be your only option for makeup classes for now.  Directions are included in the PHASE ONE AND TWO CHANGES tab, at the bottom.

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP:

For children under the age of 6, one parent (only) will be required to stay on-site in the dance lobby and socially-distanced from other parents.

For dance students ages 6 and up, please drop your child off at the bottom of the outside dance studio stairs. In inclement weather, please use the front ABK door. Please try not to drop kiddos off early. This method will also be used at pick-up- please be a little early to pick-up to insure you are on time so that Coach Erica can make sure the classroom is clean and ready for the next class before arrival.

SUMMER CARE CAMPS AND SPORTS CAMPS

We are excited to announce the re-opening of ABK Summer Day camps with modifications, schedule adjustments, and new protocols under the phase one guidelines recently released by the Oregon Office of Childcare. We will open our controlled child care groups starting Monday, June 1st. Preschool Day Camps will open beginning July 6th.

It is unclear if these guidelines apply to our summer sports camps, so we will have more information for you as soon as it is available.

Recently the child care rules and regulations have changed, allowing camps to operate, but with many restrictions. See below for specifics:

NEW SUMMER CAMP GUIDELINES, PROTOCOLS, & RESTRICTIONS:

  • Camp groups must operate with a controlled group of 10 children to one child care provider, with a max of two controlled groups in one facility.
  • Due to controlled group regulations, sign ups will have to be for the entire week. It is our hope that while we move forward with the county phases, child care regulations and rules will become more accommodating into summer.
  • Each group of 10 will remain in the same group throughout the day and week. Groups will not be intermingled.
  • We are now opening up this controlled child care group, starting the week of June 1st.

NEW REC DAY CAMP HOURS:

Due to the restrictions in group sizes we have also adjusted the daily hours of operation for our day camps. The new hours and pricing are as follows:

8:45 am-5:15 pm Daily, Monday through Friday

NEW PRESCHOOL DAY CAMP HOURS:

Days and Times for Preschool Camp are Monday/Wednesday/Friday 9 am -1pm

This is our new normal, and we are adjusting.

We ask for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate these next few weeks. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Sign-up is available on our website.
